Cleancaf® Brand Cleaner and Descaler is an essential component to maintaining great tasting coffee at home. 2.Turn machine on and begin the brew cycle. For espresso machines, also allow several ounces of Cleancaf® solution to flow through steam pipe (into a container to avoid spray.) Discard entire solution once it has passed through your machine.
3.Rinse all components and repeat steps 1 and 2 twice with clean water only. Espresso machines remove handle. You may soak handle and filters in Cleancaf® solution then rinse all components with clean water

Cleancaf is a great product. My espresso machine had so much build up it wouldn't even work properly anymore. I'd tried several regular kitchen cleaning techniques; they helped but couldn't completely resurrect my machine. After using the cleancaf solution and running several tanks of water through the machine, it works well again, and the cleancaf left no taste behind to boot! I definitely will be using this product again.

I had my espresso machine for about 4 years and used Durgol once perhaps 3 years ago. The years passed and I never really thought about it. I used JoeGlo to clean the machine and thought that was basically all I needed to do. Well, about two weeks ago, after not using the machine for a while because of moving, I turned on the machine and tried to pull a shot. It took my machine about 60 seconds to pull just a shot of water through. When I loaded the portafilter and tried to pull a shot of espresso it barely dribbled out and was absolutely horrible. I thought my pump was dying and started researching new espresso machines. After looking at some forums, I learned that limescale may have built up on the boiler and I figured spending less than $10 was better than buying a $400-500 machine.



I followed the instructions on the package, ran it through the machine and steam wand, and ran a couple of liters of water through afterward to flush the rest of the chemicals out, and it made my espresso machine almost like new! It pumps out water like it used to and I can pull a shot of coffee in a normal amount of time again!

When I purchased my first Hamilton Beach Brewstation coffee maker in 2005, it came with a packet of CleanCaf enclosed. I used it then, and was amazed at the results and now I wouldn't buy anything else to clean my coffeemaker. Simply put, nothing else works as well to clean my coffee pot. White vinegar is a joke next to this, and I've tried some of the cleaners that you can buy in the supermarket and they just can't compare.

This is the second Capresso I've had. The first one I loved, it was compact and made a great espresso. However, it didn't last more than a few years, but for the price it was great. This is an upgraded model with a few more features and do-dads, which are mostly for show. That sliding thing in the front indicating the strength of the espresso is just a gimmick, I taste no difference in the strength of the espresso no matter where the slide thing is located. I love that you can take out the bottom tray and wash it. The steam/foam device works fine, but I don't use the rubber attachment, that's a joke, and if you use it be very careful or you'll find milk all over your kitchen. It takes longer for the process of making a carafe of espresso than previous espresso machines I've had, but the result is fine. It's described as a machine that's for beginners, however, I've been using espresso machines everyday since 1992 and I'm no novice. For the price especially, this machine works fine and you can avoid spending hundreds for bells and whistles.

This is my third cappuccino maker in 15 years. I had no troubles whatsoever using this for the first time. I got a perfect dose of espresso with a perfect glass of frothed milk. I am happy.



For beginners it helps to remember three things with this machine:

1. READ the directions thoroughly. Timing the coffee and then the milk are paramount. Brew the coffee first, then, when you hear the steamer go off, turn off the coffee and start the milk. Use a narrow and deep container, preferably stainless steel. It helps if that container is chilled beforehand.

2. Use the correct amount of coffee grinds. This will take some experimentation and is subject to personal tastes. Espresso, a strong brew, requires a taste that comes from trying various amounts of grinds. Find the amount that you like and be consistent. A fine grind works best; don't pack the grinds too densely in the filter. Some coffee brands like D'Aquino come with a tamper.

3. The milk frother does two things: it steams the milk and froths it, depending on how deeply into the milk you place the device. Do not let the frother touch the bottom of the container as it needs steam to work properly. I get perfect results placing the rubber nossle an inch into the COLD milk and then rotate the container with the milk around so that the froth builds up. When the steamer stops, the milk is done and the milk should glide slowly into your hot espresso. KEEP THE FROTHER CLEAN!!! Dip it in hot water after every use. A clogged frother will malfunction quickly.



A high-end machine would be made of stainless steel. But for this price, this machine is a great entry-level and the perfect gift for the coffee aficionado.



I use a shot of hazelnut flavoring to top off my morning fix.Torani Syrup, Vanilla, 25.4-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)



The one fault of this machine is that it doesn't have an automatic shut-off button. Make sure you turn off the machine after use or else you'll have a kitchen that smells of burned coffee.

I guess I was expecting to much from a mixer that uses 2 AAA batteries. This thing has zero tourque. If you even sightly touch the sides of the glass it stops turning. This thing is only good for frothing milk or fruit juice, a concept I wasn't aware of at the time of purchess. If you add a powder mix to the milk it won't even mix that up well. If all you want to do is froth milk, it works fine for that period!

Pros:

+ Inexpensive

+ Quick, easy, and quiet to use

+ Makes creamy froth if done right

+ Easy to clean

+ You *can* take it with you ...boating, camping, traveling, to the office, etc.

+ The travel case is a very nice bonus



Cons:

- Not the sturdiest construction - I don't expect this to last for years

- It's easy to bend the metal wand (especially if you have curious kids), and then it doesn't spin evenly

- The on/off switch is finicky; pressing on it can cause the motor to go faster - or slower - or spin irregularly



Tips:

> If you heat your milk on the stovetop, try frothing while it's heating

> Use one of those handy clip-on thermometers like they have at espresso shops so you don't scald the milk (see MIU #90070 Frothing Thermometer).

> Once the batteries wear out (they haven't yet), use high quality rechargeables, (if you travel a lot, the Sanyo Eneloop 2-AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries with USB Charger is really handy).



Best Uses:

* Frothing milk on the stovetop

* Frothing before/after microwaving milk

* Making hot chocolate without powering up the steamer on the espresso machine.

* Mixing any kind of powdered drink, hot or cold, as long as it's not too thick

* Making lattes and other frothy drinks while traveling, camping, boating, at the office, etc.

* Frothing anything whenever the rest of the household is trying to sleep



Final Verdict:

I'm keeping it, and will use it regularly until it breaks. Then I might replace it with a new one (maybe the stainless version is sturdier?), since I already have the handy plastic travel case.

This product is a amazing, unfortunately I went to use it for the first time and got boiling water all over my head. Not good. I suppose it's my own fault for using it without reading the instructions. I did use it again later, and you do have to leave a lot of room in your cup otherwise it overflows. For the first few times of use, until you get used to it, make sure to use it with the cup in the sink!

After over a year of faithful service, the frother just broke - the motor burned out. I wont't be buying another Aerolatte. During the time it was working, it worked fine. This frother is not as fast or strong as other models I've used, and I'm disappointed that it burned out so soon.

I have a cuisinart select brew coffee maker and had been using the filters right along. I ran out of filters and had just cleaned my pot with white vinegar and gone away for a few days leaving my coffee maker clean and I thought great to make that fresh pot of coffee when I got home. I forgot to install a new filter and my husband made the coffee. The wonderful taste of our coffee was gone---all we could taste was rubber. I dumped the coffee and installed the new filter and was once again impressed by the difference the filter makes. Also some people had complained about this particular vendor but I must say they shipped promptly and everything was as described and originally boxed. Also I paid much less by buying the quantity than I would have paid otherwise---the free shipping was great too. All in all, a good purchase.

Love it. I liked it enough that I bought another one for my husband. Thermos does a great job.



-Keeps my coffee hot all day. Usually I finish my coffee in the morning, but I've forgotten about it and it's still piping hot later in the afternoon. I've never used it for cold liquids, but I'd assume it would work the same.



-Does not leak - a few reviewers complained that it does. I'm not sure what they are talking about. If you overfill it, so the liquid goes past where the cap needs to skrew in, then yes, it may leak, but it's pretty easy not to do that and I have never had a problem with it leaking. I just throw it in my bag and never worry about getting coffee over all of my stuff.



-Durable - I've had it for over two years and it still works and looks great. It has one minor dent to it, but that's it. I'm not nice to it at all, so it's amazing that it doesn't show more wear. Too many bottles start to leak after a while and this is still working wonders.



-Easy to pour and easy to use.

This is an excellent thermos built with quality you expect from the company. I purchased this to store water or an energy drink. I used it a couple times but found that the spout was a bit of a pain to completely unscrew and remove so I could take a quick swig. What I was really looking for was this:

My husband got this in October 2009 (9 months ago). We live where it is very cold in the winter), and he gets to work at 6 AM. He was thrilled with this thermos, because it kept his tea HOT well into the afternoon. A few weeks ago, he noticed that it isn't keeping his tea hot, even 3 hours. I think the vacuum seal let go, as there is no glass to break. Very disappointing. Yes, its under warranty, but you have to send it back, which is a hassle.
